9.2.09 Corsage Poinsettia Rose Flower and Roses Crochet along for February

I made the Corsage Flower based on the instructions in "The Crochet Bible" book by Sue Whiting, p.118 (n.b. excellent book for crochet basics). Too lazy to recount the 87 first chain stitches, I ended up with extra chains I had to carry on with, all the way along. I also altered while working around the strip to make it spiral and chose the Delicate Pom-Pom Center ( Crochet Bouquet p.36) and a drop bead to fill the center.

The Rose leaves (Crochet Bouquet p.113-114) came up too small compared to the rose. Missed the leaflet stems, so it came up quiet bushy.

26.2.09 Aposteriori, I discovered we are crocheting roses in the crochet along project for February. You still have 2 days to join us ;-)

19.12.08 Small Sweetheart Rose and a crocheted Bee

The sweetheart flower is done following the instructions in the "Crochet Bouquet" book, p.93-94.
The bee is something I came up with, though I decided finally to leave the small sweetheart rose as is, without anything in the middle.

27.6.09 Corsage Rose Flower for Pierrette

My aunt Pierrette is a very crafty and artistic woman. Only when she got retired, she really started developing all her crafty skills and I have been always admiring her for that and for the way her house looked like and is still looking. It is a real small museum.
Pierrette made for me a while ago a tobleron sewing box from cartonnage, including all the needed utensils. I strongly felt I wanted to share with her my gratitude for her kindness.
Since I am in my "crocheting" madness period, I made her this Corsage rose flower that I already made in the past, but this time, I wasn't lazy to check my first 87 chains - so it went smooth :-)
I remind you, if you look for the instructions for this Corsage Flower, you will find it in "The Crochet Bible" book by Sue Whiting, p.118.
Mom also really helped me getting a button to decorate the center and I am glad I can announce this unfinished project as FINISHED! ( I had the flower strip ready since February maybe?!).

Merci Pierrette!

9-10.8.09 Milla Winter Hat for Sarah - designed by Catherine Fauvel-Roujansky

I am aware that this picture doesn't reflect at all how looks this crocheted hat, but that what I have for the moment. I made it for Sarah's 5th birthday on the 27th of September 2009. It's so hot now - that patience will be needed till I can post her wearing it.
Meanwhile , you can see how it looks on Catherine daughter's: Milla, a REAL model.
After a comprehensive search that started from the anonymous picture I had of Milla and her hat, I managed to find CoteManoir Etsy store, Catherine's "knit is fun" blog, art gallery and also be able to purchase the pattern for this amazing design on the Ravelry store.
Unfortunately, I encountered many problems with the pattern and had to rewrite it again to myself.
In case you encounter difficulties with this pattern you may ask permission from Catherine to see my comments for better understanding.

27.8.09
I embellished the hat with a Five-petal Traditional Rose designed by Suzann Thompson.

15.6.12 Glass workshop with Ana Gautier

I had a nice opportunity to assist in a personal glass workshop with the talented international Glass artist, Ana Gautier. I first encountered her work about 3.5 years ago with a beautiful exhibit of her "glass balls in balls" necklace in the TLV Yanir glass gallery. She also sold there beautiful glass netted earrings that I put an eye on.
It was refreshing to experience this medium for the first time. Though I learned this specific medium of art is not for me, because it requires good drawing skills, in the air! It also requires to be cautious working with the burner. I am happy though to have a small glance into this world and can even appreciate it better now.
Above are the creations I made with the guidance of Ana. There was also a rose that broke on the way home, which is done very similarly to some Russian beaded roses I have beaded in the past.

6 & 13.9.08 Creamy flowers

In the picture above there is some chronological mix, but let's leave it. It contains all the creamy flowers I made to suit my wedding dress. All kind of trials... The winners were the Basic brick and square stitch flowers from "The Beader's Floral" book.

I numbered the flower objects in order to list some info about each of them:

1 - Flower Power - designed by Holle Randy - took me about 4-5 hrs
2ab - Brick stitch Blossom flower (Headpins) - variation 4 on p.23 in "The Beader's Floral"- size 12 of creamy Murano beads (which have their own story, but too long to describe here)- took me an 1 hr each.
3+4 - Brick stitch Blossom flower (Var. 4) - as 2, but with 11 ivory matt Japaneese seed beads - took me 50mn each.
5ab - Svetlana's "forget me not" flowers, based on Sandra D. Halpenny's "Nasturtium Blossoms" - I tried to decipher that flower who looks at first simple, but I am not sure I did it exactly as the original one. It took me each about 1/2 hr (using 12# Murano and 15# Japaneese SB).
6ab - Basic Square Stitch flower - p.30 in "The Beader's Floral" - size 11 took 1.25 hr & size 12 - 1.75 hr.
7 - A chineese pearl necklace I love very much. I got it from my parents years ago when they came back from their visit to China. Nomnom put it for her wedding last year and with the help of Varda - I added the Brick stitch Blossom flower to embelish it.
8 - "Collier Paquerette" bracelet - p.22-23 in "Cristaligne 6" book - took me hrs and it was a nightmare working with those 2 crossing needles br.....But at last, I think it was worthy :-)

There are further trials that do not appear in the picture, also taken from the "Beader's Floral" such as the:
The Filigree flower - size 11 - 0.5 hr
The Peony Rose - 2 hr (I would say it's too complicated for me...)
But this is enough for me.

13.1.09 Crochet Bouquet "Oval Center Rose"

"Crochet Bouquet" p.28-29.
It needs some decoration... I placed a beaded flower in the middle - but I think I am going to put there something less attracting, smaller or less dense??!

nothing to do with my first trial a month ago...

23-24.6.11 Dax Designs' Earrings for Lior 30th Birthday

I once saved an image of a beautiful rose-lavender pair of earrings from Dax designs' Etsy shop. I was absolutely fond of their design, elegance as well as their simplicity, and wished to bead them one day.
I wanted to make a pair of earrings for Lior 30th birthday. Since I already made her a pair in blue and gold, two years ago, I didn't want to use again the same blue colors or tones, even if it fits her so well with her beautiful blue eyes and blond hair. Going through several pictures of earrings I had, I thought this design may fit her best. I hope she will like it too.
Dax has also a blog and a wonderful collection of Endangered peyote bracelets I recommend you to look at.

The "Medium Star flower" -from the "Crochet Bouquet" p.92

The "Columbine" - "Crochet Bouquet" p.49-50
This trial was done before I knew about the corrections of the crochet bouquet book.
Also look at the helpful posts on the "Crochet Bouquet" book Blog about:
"Finishing the crocheted Columbine"
"Columbine crocheting tips"

The "Scallop-Edge Leaf" - "Crochet Bouquet" p.116-117

The "Petal Arches" - "Crochet Bouquet" p.30
I sew the center of the flower with the Rose ruffle flower from the "Beader's floral" book (p.81).

14.12.08 I bought plenty of new thread colours in a local store :-)
